GRB200 is a low impedance differential relay for bus-bar protection; and it has been designed
to provide very reliable, high speed and selective protection for various types of bus-bar system.
GRB200 can be applied for various bus-bar systems:
Single bus-bars with/without transfer bus-bar
Double bus-bars with/without transfer bus-bar
Ring bus-bars with/without transfer bus-bar
One and a half bus-bar
GRB200 can detect phase and earth faults on the protected bus-bar by employing a phase
segregated current differential scheme. The maximum of 24 three-phase currents can be
acquired from feeders, sections and bus-couplers, which can correctly distinguish between
internal and external faults even in the event of CT saturation.
Circuit breaker failure protection, end zone protection and blind zone protection are
also available.
Backup overcurrent and earth fault protections are provided as options in each bay.
Configuration
Figure 1.1-1 shows the configuration for the busbar protection, which is achieved with main-
unit (MainUnit) and sub-units (SubUnit#1, SubUnit#2) operations. The MainUnit has a signal
processing module, which operates for the applications; it also operates for the control and
monitoring. The SubUnit#1 and the SubUnit#2 are reinforcement units when the MainUnit is
not able to get all signals of the busbar system; the both SubUnits will be used when a larger
system should be protected.
