Download drivers from the controller.
Drivers are automatically downloaded by pointing to the shared
printer on the controller in a Microsoft peer to peer environment.
Similarly, if the controller has been set up as an NDPS printer, the
drivers configured for the selected printer agent are automatically
downloaded. For details on setting up NDPS printing, refer to
Up Novell Printing
Caution! This method may install outdated drivers if the controller
has not been updated with the most recent driver software. For
instructions, refer to
page 24.
Install drivers from a disk or network location.
Use the Add Printer wizard to install driver software by locating the
driver setup.inf file either on the e-STUDIO Client CD-ROM or in a
primed network. This is the method you must use if printing to a
Novell, IPP, or LPD queue. You must also configure a Microsoft port
for the printer.
These procedures are described in detail in the Operator's Guide.
Enabling LPR/LPD Printing
To set up a client workstation for LPR printing:
1
Install the Microsoft TCP/IP Printing Services software.
2
Add an LPR Port and map it to the controller using the Microsoft Add
Printer wizard.
This procedure is described in detail in the Operator's Guide.
Enabling IPP Printing
IPP printing enables printing to the controller over the Internet. To
establish IPP printing services:
1
Install the printer and assign it to an IPP port.
2
Configure the IPP port properties by opening the Printers folder and
right-clicking the IPP printer icon.
For additional information, see the Operator's Guide.
