Banner Media Type
Select the banner page paper source through the media type using the
following options.
Banner Page Media Type Selection via Paper Source
Option Value Description
Plain
Transparency
Tab
Thick1
Thick2
Cover
Insert
Special
The paper size always has priority over the media type and the paper
source.
If this option is not specified, the default value is used.
The command to specify that the banner page should print on a plain
page is lp –o bmtype=Plain
You can use all of the options shown above in conjunction with one
another. For example, to print a document on A4 paper, corner stapling,
and duplex the command is
lp –o a4 –o staple=1 –o duplex

CUPS Printing

CUPS is the Common Unix Printing System. It provides a relatively simple
way to access a printer through the Unix operating system or many of its
variants.
Installation
You must copy the PPD file onto the local machine, then install the
printer, and finally configure the PPD. Use CUPS via the browser to install
and configure the printer.
