where X is either 1 or 2 depending on the controller and <queue
name> is the name of the print queue and <host name or IP
address> is either the host name of the controller or is the IP address
of the controller.
This command creates a print queue using the system lpadmin
command. It also creates a configuration file that has the destination
IP address or host name. Use the configuration file to change print
queue parameters.
The lpadmin command stores the printer interface file in the /etc/
lp/interfaces directory in a file with the same name as the print
queue. The configuration file is usually stored in the /etc/lp/
interfaces directory in a file named <queue name>.conf where
<queue name> is the name of the print queue.
Under Linux, you must restart the lpd.
Deleting a Print Queue
1
Log on to the root account.
2
Enter the following command:
gl10X0rm <queue name>
This command uses the system lpadmin command to delete the print
queue and configuration file.
Under Linux, you must restart the lpd.
Changing the Default Values of a Print Queue
1
Study the interface file, named <queue name>, which is stored in the
/etc/lp/interfaces directory.
This file contains all of the default settings and values that you can
set. These values are case sensitive and must conform to the /bin/sh
variable format.
2
To manually edit the configuration file:
/etc/lp/interfaces/<queue name>.conf
or
/opt/toshiba/tap/interfaces/<queue name>.conf
or
/opt/toshiba/tap/filter/<queue name>.conf
add a line that consists of the parameter and value.
