You can use the password list to define various access levels. You can then execute the
following activities only by entering the correct password:
● Opening or saving a project or a component.
● Executing a package at the machine or reimporting this package as project.
● Viewing a protected logbook.

The project and package structure with the possible access levels is shown in the following
overview diagram:

Protecting projects and components

4.10.2.1

Access levels

In Expert, a CMC project is protected using three access levels with different authorization
levels. The same access levels are also applied for components. It is necessary to specifically
protect components, because components can be opened and processed independently of
projects.
You can only view protected CMC projects or protected components if you have a password
with one of these access levels.
Converted projects from older versions or newly created projects are unprotected and can be
edited as previously. You can subsequently provide projects with protection at any time.
To enter a password that permits defined processing permissions, use "Project > Password
protection > Enter password...."
