STEP 5 Operations

Load input word IW 71 into ACCUM 1.

Load input word IW 5 into ACCUM 1. The previous contents of ACCUM 1

are shifted to ACCUM 2.

Combine the contents of both accumulators bit by bit through

EXCLUSIVE OR.

Transfer the result (contents of ACCUM 1) to output word QW 86.

Numeric Example

Check to see if input words IW 71

and IW 5 are equal. The result bit is

set to "1" only if corresponding bits

in ACCUM 1 and ACCUM 2 are
