An RS 485 repeater regenerates the signals on the bus.
By inserting RS 485 repeaters, you can split the ET 200 distributed I/O
system into a number of segments, thus bridging longer distances.
The characteristics of the RS 485 repeaters with order numbers
6ES7 972-0AA00-0XA0 are as follows:
degree of protection IP 20
baud rates from 9.6 kbaud to 12 Mbaud
repeater adapters for connecting wave guides

with degree of protection IP 65 or for redundant remote operation.
