Acceptance test wizard of SINUMERIK Operate
3.1 Introduction
Safe Brake Test (SBT)
The Safe Brake Test (SBT) function verifies whether the brake is function‐
ing correctly and that the required holding torque is observed.
Safe Direction (SDI)
The test for Safe Direction (SDI) verifies for an axis/drive whether with
overshooting of the configured SDI tolerance in the blocked direction
● the drive is shut down,
● the configured stop reactions and alarms are triggered for both
monitoring channels,
● the reaction times and over-travel comply with the requirements.
Switch-off signal path
This test checks the shutdown paths for the drives with Safety Integrated
by way of a forced checking procedure (forced test function).
Function relations
Function relations of the safety applications are checked and documented
with this test.
External stops
This test checks whether all applied external stops are tested separately
in the drive and NCK is tested by way of a forced checking procedure
(forced test function).
SPL inputs/outputs
This test checks whether the I/O actuated by the SPL inputs/outputs are
tested by way of a forced checking procedure, an error is detected and
the alarms and reactions designated for an error are triggered.
Emergency stop
This test checks the reaction of the emergency stop function for axes in
the event of the emergency stop function being implemented via the ex‐
ternal stops of the safe programmable logic (SPL).
Safe Brake Test (SBT)
The Safe Brake Test (SBT) function verifies whether the brake is function‐
ing correctly and that the required holding torque is observed.
Safe Operating Stop (SBH)
This test checks whether, following overrunning of the standstill tolerance
for the Safe Operating Stop (SOS),
● the drive is shut down,
● the corresponding stop reactions and alarms are triggered for both
monitoring channels,
● the reaction times and over-travel comply with the requirements.
