Symptom
Windows for other
applications are not
displayed during
maintenance.
Other applications
cannot be launched
during maintenance
on the main unit.
Cause
When a maintenance application is launched from the Task Manager
during main unit or Pod maintenance, the window of the application
may be hidden behind the Vision Exchange screen and is not
accessible. In this case, use the following procedure to minimize the
Vision Exchange screen to gain access to the maintenance
application.
1. Launch the Task Manager.
2. Open the [Processes] tab.
3. Select the [Vision Presenter] process, and click the triangle
button on the left side to expand the list.
4. Select and right-click Window in the expanded list.
5. Click [Minimize] in the context menu.
McAfee Embedded Control whitelisting type antivirus software is
installed in the main unit. By factory default, only those applications
that are registered in the whitelist can be launched.
To install other applications used for maintenance, use the following
procedure.
1. Log in as an administrator using the sonyips account.
2. Run Maintenance.exe on the desktop.
3. Command Prompt appears.
4. Execute commands in Command Prompt to run installers or copy
files.
Maintenance.exe has McAfee Embedded Control update permission.
Programs installed using Maintenance.exe are automatically added
to the whitelist.
