Ensure that the paddles are in place and in good
condition.
Check the fuel and oil levels of the engine.
When preparing to mix material:
1. Move the machine to a level job-site surface.
2. Remove the machine from the tow vehicle.
3. Ensure that the machine is secure from movement
before you use it.
4. Ensure that the drum is in the mix position
(upright).
5. Ensure that the drum latch is engaged and that the
drum does not rotate toward the dump position.

Opening and Closing the Cowl

Opening the Cowl
1. At the side of the machine where the front cowl and
rear cowl meet, grasp the ring of the latch and pull it
off from the latch anchor on the rear cowl

3. At the back of the machine where the rear cowl meets
the frame of the machine, grasp the ring of the latch
and pull it off from the latch anchor on the cowl

4. Rotate the rear cowl up and forward until it is fully
positioned on top of the front cowl
Closing the Cowl
1. Rotate the rear cowl rearward and down until the
receiver at the bottom center of the cowl is aligned with
the V-fitting and flush on the frame of the machine
(Figure
29).
2. At the back of the machine, grasp the ring of the latch
and pull it on to the latch anchor on the rear cowl.
3. At the side of the machine, grasp the ring of the latch
and pull it onto the latch anchor on the rear cowl.
4. Repeat step

Adding Fuel

For best results, use only clean, fresh (less than 30 days
old), unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or
higher ((R+M)/2 rating method).

Ethanol: Gasoline with up to 10% ethanol (gasohol)
or 15% MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether) by volume
is acceptable. Ethanol and MTBE are not the same.
Gasoline with 15% ethanol (E15) by volume is not
approved for use. Never use gasoline that contains
more than 10% ethanol by volume, such as E15
(contains 15% ethanol), E20 (contains 20% ethanol), or
E85 (contains up to 85% ethanol ). Using unapproved
fuel may cause performance problems and/or engine
damage which may not be covered under warranty.
Do not use fuel containing methanol.
Do not store fuel either in the fuel tank or fuel containers
over the winter unless a fuel stabilizer is used.
Do not add oil to fuel.
