This section describes the method for connecting external cables to the line I/O terminal
unit on the power supply module.
• Before connecting external cable, make sure that power is not supplied to the cable. Other-
wise, electrical shock can be caused.
• For each cable connection, be sure to use a solderless terminal with a sheath whose diame-
ter conforms to the cable diameter. Otherwise, a short circuit can be formed, causing fire.
• Be sure to ground the line I/O terminal unit. Otherwise, electrical shock or malfunction can
be caused.
• Connect external power supply of suitable rating. Otherwise, explosion, fire, or equipment
failure can be caused.
• Wiring work must be done by qualified technicians. Incorrect wiring can cause fire, electrical
shock, or equipment failure.
• Use a screwdriver suitable to M3.5 screws. Otherwise, screws can be damaged.
Connect external cables to the line I/O terminal unit in the following procedure.
(1) Open the cover of the line I/O terminal unit, and remove each terminal screw (M3.5)
by rotating it counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver.
(2) Insert the terminal of external cable from the left side, and pass the terminal screw in
the terminal hole.
(3) Tighten the terminal screw by rotating it clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver, to
securely fix the external cable terminal to the terminal unit.
(4) After connecting all external cables to the terminal unit in the procedure (1) through
(3) above, close the terminal unit cover.
