Expansion cards

The server supports PCI expansion cards.The system board contains five PCI expansion
slots.

Restrictions on PCI expansion cards

The uppermost slot (PCI-1) and the slot under it (PCI-2) support 64 bit/66 MHz PCI
cards, while the slots PCI-3 through PCI-5 are intended for use with 32 bit/33 MHz PCI
cards.

Setting IRQ levels

When setting the IRQ level for installed devices, use the BIOS Setup Utility. For
information, see
Refer to the user's guide that came with the expansion card for detailed information on
that device.
HINT: You must consider the configuration of the existing installed devices when
setting the interrupt level for newly installed devices. Toshiba recommends that you
use Appendix D, Device Log to record device settings.

Cautions when adding RAID controllers and SCSI host adapters

If a RAID controller or SCSI host adapter is added to the system, there may be more than
one controller which controls hard disk drives and other start up devices. In this case,
use the BIOS Setup Utility to specify the hard disk drive that will boot the OS (operating
system).
