Windows XP: Network connection dial-up network

Click Start > Settings > Network connections in the Start menu.
ì
Click Wizard for new connections in the Network connections dialogue.
ì
Click Next in the Wizard for new connections.
ì
Select the Set up connection to the Internet option, and click Next.
ì
Select the Set up connection manually option, and click Next.
ì
Select the Set up connection with a dial-up modem option, and click Next.
ì
Select the Line 0 on HUB Device entry as the device for the dial-up connection.
ì
Follow the wizard's instructions for setting up the new dial-up connection.

Setting up an Internet connection

Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
ì
In the Extras menu, select Internet options.
ì
Open the Connections tab.
ì
Select the newly set up Dial-up connection.
ì
Click As default.
This defines the new dial-up connection as the default Internet connection for your
Windows operating system.
ì
Confirm your selection with OK.
When you open your Internet browser, the new dial-up connection will be opened
automatically.
ì
Click Dial Now to open the connection to the Internet via your Gigaset base station.

Setting up channel bundling

Channel bundling means that a dial-up connection uses both B-channels of the ISDN
line at the same time. The advantage of channel bundling is that the double bandwidth
leads to higher transmission speeds and thus a faster connection.
If you want to use channel bundling for your Internet connections, the easiest way is to
set up an additional dial-up connection:

To find out how to do this, please read Chapter "Setting up a dial-up connection" on
page 32.

Follow the steps for your Windows operating system up to the selection of the
device for the dial-up connection.
– Select the Line 0 on HUB Device entry as the first device for the dial-up connec-
tion.
– Then select the Line 1 on HUB Device entry as the second device for the dial-up
connection.
ì
Follow the wizard's next instructions for completing channel bundling set-up.
ì
Enter the new connection as the default connection for Internet access.
