Listening to Tapes
"TON
AS
) Press the
2. ON button of the [POWER]
switch.
3) Press the TAPE button of the [FUNCTION]
selector.
4) Set the [TAPE
SELECTOR]
according to the type of the
tape you use.
©) Press the {>»PLAY] button to start the tape.
©) Adjust the volume, balance and tone for the most preferable
listening condition.
Full Auto Shut-Off (ASO) Mechanism ey
When
the end of the tape is reached during playback, record-
ing, fast forward or rewind mades, the ASO mechanism auto- |
| matically
stops the tape and disengages
the tape transport.
| However, the power to the set will remain on after the ASO
mechanism
is activated.
To turn
off the power,
press the
| CLOFF/SLEEP bitton of the [POWER] switch.
| Note:
!f recording or playback
is made at a loud level when
|
the [POWER/BATT]

ASO

may
be activated
to stop
tape
transport.

Recording via Built-in Microphones
@ Press the + ON button of the [POWER]

Recording with External Microphones
Plug external microphones (optional) into the [MIC] jacks @ in
the rear of the set, and then proceed in exactly the same way as
described above for 'Recording via Built-in Microphones".
Press the LON
button of the [POWER]
switch.
Tune to the desired station as described above under ''Listen-
ing to the Radio".
@ Press the [¥OPEN] button, and insert a blank tape.
'@) Set the [TAPE SELECTOR]
according to the type of the
tape you use.
S) Press the [@RECORD]
button.
@ \f a whistling sound
is audible in MW programme recording,
use the [MODE/BEAT]
selector to suppress it. Confirm that
there is no whistling sounds.
@ Since this set has been designed with an automatic recording
level adjustment circuit (ALC), a suitable recording level will
be set automatically without any further operations.
Further-
more,
this
set
also
features
a ''variable
monitor
system"
permitting the listener to change the listening volume without
effecting the recording level.

To Listen To or Record
From a Phono-Dise and
External Equipment
To listen to or record from a phono-disc player or other source
jacks @ and then press the PHONO or AUX button of ths
[FUNCTION]
selector.
To record the source program place the set in the record mode.
Note:
When
using a phono-disc player as a source be sure to
connect its ground lead to the (PHONO
+]
terminal
@ on the set.
