Fault 99: 48V Bus Overvolt—M/G
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
System bus voltage over 65 Vdc has disabled the generator. A Bus Overvolt indicates the 48 Vdc bus circuit
has exceeded an over-voltage set point (65 Vdc). This fault causes the motor to disable.
Circuit Description
The motor/generator controller monitors the 48V bus voltage.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The 48 Vdc bus circuit has exceeded an over-voltage set point (65 Vdc).
Note:
This fault can also occur if the TEC-5002 loses communication with the motor/generator and reverts
to limp mode. When the TEC-5002 loses communication, it loses engine speed control, and the mechanical
governor limits engine speed to 3,200 rpm.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to
2.
Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Note:
If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Determine the troubleshooting strategy.
If only the motor/generator is reporting a 48V Bus Overvolt, the problem is more likely to be with the 48 Vdc bus
connection to the motor/generator. Go to Step 3.
If more than 1 cutting reel motor and the motor/generator are reporting a 48V Bus Overvolt, the problem is more
likely to be with the 48 Vdc bus voltage. Perform the Recommended Service Actions for fault 30.
Step 3: With the engine shut off, check the 48 Vdc battery system.
1.
Raise and support the operator's seat, then remove the cover from the main contactor. See
