Communication

● "Secure communication via self-signed certificate": Option to enable secure

communications via SSL encryption. Default setting: "activated".

Client access is only possible if the client application supports SSL encryption and if

passwords have been set for both users.

For access via the Sm@rtClient application, this option must be cleared.

● "Port Configuration"

– "Automatic" (default setting): Option to enable automatic port assignment. The default

– "Manual": Option to enable manual port assignment.

● "Port for access from desktop application": Port number for access via the

Sm@rtClientapplication. Default value is "5900".

Security

5.6.1

A convenient user administration is available to you under "User management". The user

administration is configured in WinCC, transferred to the HMI device and managed on the

HMI device. To transfer the user administration from WinCC to the HMI device, the option

"Keep current user administration data in runtime" must be cleared in the "Load preview"

dialog box during project transfer.

The complete user list is only visible and editable for users who have been assigned the

"User administration" function right in the configuration.

Users with other function rights see their own entry in the user list and have access to the

buttons in the "Current user" area.

If password protection is activated for the Control Panel, only users with the "Control Panel

access" function right can access the Control Panel.
