GENERAL
This
is
a Safety
Class
I
instrument.
This
instrument
has
been
designed and tested according
to
IEC
Publication
348,
"Safety
Requirements
for
Electronic
Measu ring Apparatus."
OPERATION
BEfORE
APPl VING
POWER
verify
that
th
e power tra nsforme
r
primary is
matched to
the
available
line
voltage and the correct
fuse
is
installed
(see
Section
II
).
Make sure
that onl
y
fu
ses
with
the
req
uired
rated current
and of
the specified type
(normal
blow,
time delay, etc.) are used
for
replacement. The use
of repa
ired
fuses
and the short-circuiting
of fuseholders must
be
avoided
.
SERVICE
Although this
instrument
has been designed in accordance with international
safety
standards,
this
manual
contains information, cautions, and warn ings
which
must be
followed to
e nsure safe
operation
and to retain the instrument in
safe
condition. Service and adj ustments
shou
ld
be
performed o
nly
by qua lified service
personnel.
An
y
adjustment
,
maintena nce,
and
repai
r
of
the
opened
instrument
under
voltage shou
ld
be
avoided as much
as possible and,
when
inevitable, should
be
carried out o
nl
y by a
skil led person
who
is aware
of the hazard involved.
Capacitors inside the
instrument
may
still be charged
even
if the
instru
ment has been disconnec-
ted
from
its
source
of supply.
Whenever it
is likely
that the
p
rotection
has been
impaired,
the
instrument
must be
made
inoper-
ative
and be
secu
red
against
any
unintended
operation.
