How T o Maintain T he Carpet Shampooer/
Extractor
Th e instruction s in this booklet serve as a guide to routin e main tenance. Follow th ese suggestion s to avoid
un necessary service calls.
Before storing the carpet shampooer/ extractor, on a lin oleum or vin yl sur face put th e unit in th e floor mode
an d use clean water ( without solution) to flush out all remain in g particles in th e carpet sh ampooer/ extractor
unit.
Place clean water in the clean water solution tan k.
Operate the un it, by pulling up on the Dispensin g Trigger located in th e carpet shampooer/
extractor's handle.
Activate the trigger for 4 strokes ( 2 forward an d 2 backward) .
Then, release the trigger while operating th e unit for an oth er 4 strokes or un til th e floorin g is dry.
For models featuring the Attachment Hose, on a linoleum or vinyl surface, activate the trigger on the attachment
handle to run clear water through the nozzle using 4 backward strokes. Th en release trigger an d proceed with
any addition al strokes to remove moisture. Th is will flush out all th e remain ing particles.

Turn off th e power switch and un plug th e electrical cord before
clean in g.
1.
Remove th e clean water solution tank by liftin g up on the tan k
latch to release th e clean water solution .
2.
Grasp the carrying h an dle to remove th e clean water solution
tank from th e carpet shampooer/ extractor un it.
3.
Empty an y remaining liquids from th e clean water solution
tank.
4.
Rinse th e tan k with warm tap water.
5.
Thoroughly air dry the clean water solution tank before storing.
6.
Place th e dry, clean water solution tan k back on to th e carpet
shampooer/ extractor unit makin g sure it sn aps securely into
place. See page 9 for more detailed in struction s.

clean ing.
1. Remove the recovery tank from the carpet shampooer/ extractor
un it by push ing the recovery tank latch down ward to release it
from th e un it.
2. Pu ll th e tan k o u t fr o m th e lo wer p o r tio n o f th e car p e t
shampooer/ extractor un it.
3. Lift th e tank lid off an d empty con ten ts in to a suitable water
drain .
4. Clean the recovery tan k and lid with soap an d water. Also, rin se
the filter after each use with water.
5. Thorough ly air dry the recovery tan k before storin g.
6. To replace the recovery tank into the unit, push the dry recovery
tan k all th e way in to th e carpet shampooer/ extractor until th e
latch sn aps to secure the tank. Be sure th e ridge on th e latch is
push ed all th e way un der th e carpet sh ampooer/ extractor
housing.
