Displaying the Cuttings Discharge Enabled State (Perfect
Binder Continuous Kit)
Opening the trimmer waste unit during operation may suspend the bookbinding
operation.
If the Perfect Binder Continuous Kit is installed, so that cuttings can be discharged
without stopping binding, then the front cover LED can indicate conditions in which
cuttings can be discharged.

In this case, the front cover LED indicates the following:
On:
Blinking: You can open the trimmer waste unit.
Off:
IMPORTANT
Servicing is needed to use this function. Contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
If the LED becomes on when the trimmer waste unit is open, finish the treatment quickly and
close the trimmer waste unit. Leaving the trimmer waste unit open suspends the bookbinding
operation.
Normally, if you open the trimmer waste unit during bookbinding, a message appears on the
host machine display instructing you to set the trimmer waste unit. However, with this function
enabled, the message may not be displayed even if the trimmer waste unit is left open.
