Replacing the hard drive

CAUTION:
you can transfer the data to the new drive.
1.
Turn off the computer properly through the operating system, then turn off any external devices.
2.
Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
CAUTION:
as long as the system is plugged into an active AC outlet. You must disconnect the power cord
to avoid damage to the internal components of the computer.

Remove the front panel. See

Press in the release latch on the left side of the hard drive carrier (1) and then rotate the carrier
handle up (2).
5.
Lift the hard drive carrier straight up and out of the drive bay.
