Flow of Printing

Fig. 4-28 shows the general flow of printing.
First of all, the video control section outputs the print instruction to the
printer engine control section which starts to prepare for printing (picking
up recording paper, etc.). Next, when the printer is ready for printing, the
video control section sends the video signals (image data) to the printer
engine control section. The printer engine control section generates the
signals (LASER drive signals) for turning the LASER ON and OFF based
upon the video signals, and sends these signals to the LASER/scanner sec-
tion.
