Chapter 5

Once the NetServer hardware is installed, boot the system from the DiagTools

Diskette that was created from the Startup CD to run the hardware diagnostic and

to save/view the hardware inventory.

PHASE 1 – Pre-Installation

Insert the NetWare for SB 5.0 bootable diskette into the server's floppy drive and

boot the system.

1. At "Select Language", select English or your local language. Press Enter.

2. At "Installation type", select Express Installation (recommended). Press

Enter.

3. Create a new 100MB DOS partition and a new NetWare partition (All data

on the disk will be deleted). Press Enter.

4. Enter your company name. Press Enter.

5. Select you time zone. Press Enter.

6. The system will now list the options you have selected:

*Express installation

*New DOS partition (drive will be RE-FORMATTED)

*New NetWare installation

*Company name: what you have entered

*Time Zone: ...

Press Enter.

System now reboot server; make sure CD-ROM drive is z:\

PHASE 2 – Installing NetWare 5 for Small Business

Insert the License diskette into the FD drive, Insert NetWare 5 Operating System

CD into z:\ drive

Under the drive z:\ and type NSBS

In NetWare Install screen, follow the instructions:

1. At "Select Language", select English or your local language. Press Enter.

2. Read the license agreement and select "Accept License

Agreement".

3. Choose to "Create a New Boot Partition".
