A. Orient the servo section of the DR-D504X reader for placement
into a left or right drive bay.
If an additional reader is to be installed, it must be pre-configured to
fit in either the left or right drive bay. The DR-D504X is set to the
right position when it is shipped. The servo section on the top of the
drive unit should be oriented according to the location of the drive in
the jukebox. See Figure 4-4, Reorienting the DR-D504X from Left to
Right.
1.
Remove three screws that attach the servo section of the
reader to the base.
2. Unstrap grey and blue wires and slide the wires aside to
provide more space to reach the servo.
NOTE: When reattaching the wires, make sure they are tied
securely with no slack. If the the wires are slack, the disc
transporter can catch them as it moves within the
DRM-5004X.
3. Re-orient the drive as shown below by rotating the servo sec-
tion. A flexible cable from the pickup is located in the cen-
ter of the servo section, so do not pull up on the servo sec-
tion as you rotate it.
4. Carefully align two positioning holes in the servo section,
before tightening screws. There is a small bubble in the
shielded chassis that also can be matched with an indenta-
tion on the servo to assure a proper alignment. When the
servo is oriented to the left, some of the it will extend out-
side of the chassis.
5. Replace the three screws to re-attach the reader.
6. Re-strap wires.
7. If the sector size does not need to be changed, The DR-D504X
is now ready to be installed into the left drive bay. Proceed
to Section 4.2.2.
NOTE: The default sector size of the readers shipped from the
factory is 2048 bytes. For Unix Systems, the sector size needs to
be set to 512K. If the sector size needs to be changed, follow the
steps in Point B on page 4-7.
