4.5.2 LED Check
This test confirms that all the segments of the LED display are
operating properly. Follow these steps:
1. Enter test mode 0, submode 3 by depressing the SM+ key.
2. The display should show ALL segments illuminated. Confirm all
display segments are operable so you can be certain of the dis-
play status during other tests. See Figure 4-34.
4.5.3 Unit Installation Status
This test confirms the number of drive units installed and available in
the DRM-5004X and the number of disc magazines that have been
installed. See Figure 4-35. This should indicate drives 1-4 installed.
1. Enter test mode 0, submode 1 by depressing the SM+ key.
2. The display should change to show "0.1._x.-.x".
NOTE: The leftmost two characters show "0.1" to indicate test
mode 0, submode 1. The remaining characters show the num-
ber of drives recognized: "
o
"8 -
" indicates three drives, "8 - 8" indicates four drives.
Periods between characters indicate magazines are not present.
3. If the display shows an incorrect number of drives, repeat steps
1 and 2. Confirm with a visual check of the drive bays at the
bottom of the changer. Check to make sure all drives are
installed correctly. If the problem still occurs, contact Service.
4.5.4 Status Display for DIP & Rotary Switches
This test confirms that the unused DIP switches and the rotary switch
located on the inside front right rail below the Mode Setting Buttons
are all set to 0. See Figure 4-36. Follow these directions:
1. Enter test mode 0, submode 2 by depressing the SM+ key.
2. The display should show "02_xxx"
3. The "xxx" numbers indicate the status of the DIP and ROTARY
switches on the inside front right rail. The "xxx" numbers
should read "000", the factory default condition. If other num-
bers appear, make sure the DIP Switches on the inside front
right rail and the rotary switch are set to 0, and reset the unit.
