RADIO RECEPTION
RADIO RECEPTION
e Switch on the set by pressing POWER button ().
Aerials
e For FM-reception, pull out the telescopic aerial completely. You may also
push-in the telescopic
aerial and connect
an external
FM-aerial
having an
impedance of 75 Ohms (or the Community Antenna system) to the FM ANTENNA
socket @. An external roof-mounted FM-aerial will provide a better reception
quality of weak signals.
Note: Type D 8734/02 (see type plate) does not have an external FM-aerial
socket.
When using the telescopic aerial, you can improve the reception of a station by
inclining and turning the telescopic aerial until the maximum deflection of TUNING
meter @ is reached.
If the FM-signal is too strong and sounds distorted (very close to a transmitter),
it may be necessary to reduce the pulled out length of the telescopic aerial (or
to withdraw the plug from FM ANTENNA
socket 49).
e@ For Medium or Long Wave reception (MW/LW), the set is provided with a
built-in ferroceptor aerial, so there is no need to use an external or the telescopic
aeriah
To improve the reception of a station, the ferroceptor aerial can be directed by
turning the whole set until the maximum deflection of TUNING meter @ is
reached.
e For Short Wave (SW) reception, the telescopic aerial must be pulled out,
placed in the vertical position and the plug should be removed
from the FM
ANTENNA socket @9.
To improve SW-reception, you may vary the pulled-out length of the telescopic
aerial until the maximum deflection of TUNING meter @ is reached.
FM stereo
e When the FM STEREO indicator @ lights up, you are receiving a FM-stereo
transmitter.
Adjust the stereo effect with STEREO control (10.
A disturbing noise, due to a weak FM-stereo signal, canbe suppressed by turning
the STEREO control @ anti-clockwise.
