AMPLIFIER
e Press CD, TUNER, TAPE or AUX to switch the
unit on and at the same time select the required
sound source.
- The display shows the sound source selected.
-— The LED in the VOLUME control lights up.
e Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control or
v VOLUME A on the remote control.
e Set the tone colour with the GRAPHIC EQUAL-
IZER.
e For extra
amplification
of the bass
use
the
DYNAMIC BASS BOOST control.
¢ Set the stereo balance with BALANCE.
e Press POWER to switch the unit off.
-.The VOLUME
control returns automatically to
MIN; in the mean time its LED flashes.
Notes:
- Until VOLUME is at MIN you cannot switch the
unit on again.
~ Every time you switch the unit on, the VOLUME
control automatically goes to a fixed volume po-
sition.
— You can switch the sound off with MUTE. Press
this button again to get the sound back.
~ If you connect headphones, the loudspeakers
are switched off.
— Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket if you
want to switch off the mains voltage complete-
ly.
TUNER
TUNING
e Press TUNER
until the display shows the re-
quired wavelength: LW, MW or FM.
e Press TUNING « or VW TUNING again and again
briefly until the frequency of the required trans-
mitter appears on the Pia
f:
¢ Keep TUNING « or W TUNING pressed for one
second and then release the button. The tuner
now searches automatically the first transmitter
of sufficient strength. Start searching again if
you want another station.
~ With FM stereo reception the display shows
Stereo.
e If the
FM = stereo
reception
MONO/STEREO to MONO.
~ Stereo goes out.
PRESET STATIONS
- By storing the frequencies of 20 stations in the
memory, you can tune to these stations directly
with the digit buttons.
- You can distribute the 20 preset stations as you
require over the three wavelengths or they can
all be set to one wavelength.

Storing preset stations
e Select the required wavelength with TUNER.
e Press MEMORY.
- The display shows MEMORY.
e With TUNING « or W TUNING tune to the re-
quired transmitter.
e Using the digit buttons, enter the number under
which you want to store the station.
— This number appears on the display.
e Press MEMORY again.
— The number
indicator 1-20 shows the stored
number.
e Select the other stations required, give them a
number and store them by pressing MEMORY
after each one.
— The number indicator 1-20 always shows the
number of stations stored.
e When you have finished, press MEMORY again.
— MEMORY goes out.
Tuning to preset stations
e Press TUNER.
¢ Using the digit buttons, enter the number of the
required station.
— This number together with the wavelength and
the frequency of the station appear on the dis-
play.
Erasing preset stations
e Using the digit buttons, enter the number of the
station you want to erase.
— This number together with the wavelength and
the frequency of the station appear on the dis-
play.
e Press CANCEL on the remote control.
— The number disappears from the display.

PLAYING ACD
e Press CD.
e Press a.
— The CD tray opens.
e Insert the CD, printed side up, in the tray (fig. 7).
e Press PAL
— The CD tray closes.
~ The display shows briefly the number of tracks
and the playing time of the CD.
— Immediately after this play starts.
— The number indicator 1-20 shows the number of
tracks on the CD. If a CD has more than 20
tracks, the indication — is also lit. As play pro-
ceedes, the numbers of the indicator extinguish
in turn. However, the indication — remains lit un-
til all tracks have been played.
— In addition, the display shows constantly which
track is being played together with its elapsed
playing time.
— lf there is a pause between two tracks, this is
counted down preceeded by -.
— Play stops after the last track.
— The display shows the number of tracks and the
playing time of the CD.
CHANGING THE PLAYING TIME INFORMATION
e Press TIME if you want to see the elapsed play-
ing time of the CD (T.ELAPSED) instead of the
elapsed playing time of a track.
