Acts as a grounding reference for the magnetic
lenses and to prevent static buildup in the ceramic
components and cause beam control errors.

The heat shield helps to maintain the temperature
of the build and protects internal parts from metalli-
sation. The heat shield is also used as part of the
X-radiation protection.

Always use the loading trolley when moving the
hoppers in and out of the build chamber.
The hopper outlet is equipped with an automatic
shut-off valve eliminating the risk of powder spilling
when removing the hoppers from the chamber.
