5.6. Install the rubber boot (26) onto the large washer (23). See following NOTE.
NOTE: Push the rubber boot onto the washer so that the washer edge fits into the boot-lip groove.
5.7. Install the brake drum and wheel.
6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remaining rear axle if necessary.

UNITIZED TRANSAXLE REMOVAL

See General Warning, Section 1, Page 1-1.
WARNING
• To perform this procedure, the hydraulic system must be opened. As a result, the brakes must
be bled after the correct reinstallation of the brake components. Failure to bleed the brakes
could result in decreased braking performance due to air being trapped in the hydraulic
system. Use only DOT 5 brake fluid. See Bleeding the Hydraulic Brake System, Section 6,
Page 6-31.
1. Turn the key switch OFF and remove the key. Place the Forward/Reverse handle is in NEUTRAL. Chock
the front wheels.
2. Disconnect the battery cables as instructed. See WARNING "To avoid unintentionally starting..." in
General Warning, Section 1, Page 1-1.
3. Close the fuel shut-off valve on fuel tank. See Fuel Shut-Off Valve, Section 14, Page 14-27.
