General information

Term
"Plug & Measure" is the ability to recognize any analyzer modules and/or option modules
added at a later time and to integrate them. This ability makes it easier to replace modules
for maintenance purposes as well as installing devices at a later time, for example, option
modules.
When you replace or retrofit a module, the processing module recognizes the change in the
device configuration during a restart. The type of module as well as its parameter
assignment are recognized. You can either apply the parameter assignments of the
replacement/retrofit module or use those of the previous module.
Requirement
For successful module retrofitting or module replacement, the firmware of the module to be
replaced must be compatible with the firmware of the processing module.
Prior to the installation of the module you have to update the firmware of the processing
module:
● When installing a new module into an existing device.
● When replacing a module: When the error message 'Download firmware/configuration'
appears in the display.
If an analyzer module is already present, you must update its firmware.
