    Congratulations! You have purchased one of the finest projection TVs on the market. The goal of this manual is to guide you through setting up and operating your Toshiba TV as quickly as possible. This manual applies to model 53AX62.

NOTE REGARDING PICTURE QUALITY When connecting video equipment to your Toshiba TV: For GOOD picture quality: Use a standard yellow video cable. For BETTER picture quality: If your equipment has S-video connectors, use an S-video cable instead of a standard yellow video cable.

    Adding channels to the TV’s memory When you press Channel yz, the TV will cycle through only the channels stored in the TV’s channel memory. Use the steps below and on the next page to program channels into the TV’s memory. Programming channels automatically The TV can automatically detect all active channels in your area and store them in its memory.

    Adding and erasing channels manually After you have automatically programmed channels into the TV’s memory (see page 25), you can manually add or erase individual channels.     Adjusting the color convergence This projection TV uses three separate TV tubes: red, green, and blue. The red, green, and blue images are projected onto the screen where they converge to form a full-color picture. You can see a clear picture only when the three images converge correctly.
