If your Theater Network is isolated from the Internet then
there is no need for DNS Address assignments and they
can be 0.0.0.0 (as shown). However, any planned access to
the Internet, even if that access is via a firewall or
corporate network will require DNS Addresses be set.
Address assignments can be either Static or Automatic (if
DHCP is in use). Consult with your network administrator
for additional information about DNS settings.

Set Static DNS address

A static (or predetermined) DNS address can be assigned
to the SMS Server's Theater Network connection. To set
the Static DNS address option, tap STATIC in the DNS
ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT group and enter the IP address
values for Primary and Secondary DNS servers.
• Primary (IP address)
To set the Primary DNS Server static IP address, tap
Primary and the Enter Address popup appears.
Current DNS IP address
Keypad
To set a new DNS Server IP address, tap CLEAR,
set the new address by tapping the numbers on the
Keypad, and then tap Accept.
Note: Entering the DNS Server IP address from the
ENTER ADDRESS popup uses the "dotted
decimal" format and must include the "dot(s)" as
part of the entry.
• Secondary (IP address)
To set the Secondary DNS Server static IP address,
tap Secondary and the Enter Address popup
appears. To set a new DNS Server IP address, tap
CLEAR, set the new address by tapping the
numbers on the Keypad, and then tap Accept.

Automatic DNS IP address

To set the Automatic IP address option, tap
AUTOMATIC in the IP ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT
group and then tap Save Settings. The appropriate value

Time Zone

The Time Zone Settings
are used to convert the
date/time stamps applied
to the various logs to a
value appropriate to the
time zone where the
system is located.
Internally, the system
uses UTC for all
operations.
To access Time Zone
Settings, tap Menu, tap
Maintenance, and then
tap Time Zone. The
Time Zone Settings
screen appears
To set the local time zone, scroll the Time Zone list until
your local time zone is visible and then select the Zone.
Daylight Savings Time (Summer Time) may or may not be
applicable for your location. If it is not applicable, select
Automatic
Static
Save
Settings
Tap Time Zone
Maintenance Menu
