7B-73 Air Conditioning System: Automatic Type
Sunload Sensor Inspection
1) Light over sunload sensor vertically with an
incandescent lamp of approximately 60 W. The
distance between sunload sensor and lamp should
be approximately 100 mm (3.94 in.).
2) Measure voltage between terminals of sunload
sensor as shown.
If check result is not satisfactory, replace sunload
sensor with new one.

0.3 V or more
Outside Air Temperature Sensor Removal and
Installation
Removal
1) Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2) Remove front bumper referring to "Front Bumper
and Rear Bumper Components in Section 9K".
3) Disconnect outside air temperature sensor
connector.
4) Remove outside air temperature sensor (1).

Installation
Reverse removal procedure for installation.
Outside Air Temperature Sensor Inspection
Use an ohmmeter to check resistance of outside air
temperature sensor.
If check result is not satisfactory, replace outside air
temperature sensor.

2.18 kΩ – 2.22 kΩ at 25 °C (77 °F)

Inside Air Temperature Sensor Removal and
Installation

Removal
1) Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2) Remove steering column hole cover (1).
3) Remove connector and aspirator hose (2) from
inside air temperature sensor (3).

4) Remove inside air temperature sensor with its
bracket from steering column hole cover by
loosening a screw.
5) Separate inside air temperature sensor from its
bracket.

Installation
NOTE
During installation, make sure that aspirator
hose is securely connected to inside air
temperature sensor.
Reverse removal procedure to install inside air
temperature sensor.
