SVMi-8 and Cadence Voice Mail Setup

Configuring the VM System

Follow the steps below to configure your VM system.
1. INSPECTION AND INSTALLATION
Install the card as described in Chapter 4. The card should be labelled "SVMi-8", "SVMi-16" or
"Cadence (VM8A)". If it is not, you have the wrong card. Ensure that the system power is
switched OFF before installing.
2. POWER UP
Complete installation of all other required system interface cards (as described in

5. INITIALIZE VM
In MMC 750, set the DOWNLOAD option to YES and CARD RESTART to YES. Wait for
about 10 minutes for the card to restart, then in MMC 750 set the DOWNLOAD option back to
NO.

Testing the Hardware

1. Call each VM port individually and confirm that the VM system answers.
2. Call the VM group and confirm that the VM system answers.
If these tests are successful you have completed the installation and setup of the VM hardware.
You are now ready to begin programming the Voice Mail/Auto Attendant system parameters.
Refer to your Voice Mail documentation for programming procedures.
All VM ports must be assigned to group 549 ('L' systems) or 529 ('S' and 'M' systems).
Select either SEQUENTIAL or DISTRIBUTED ring mode.
Set group type to BI-VMS.
Select "NO" for each station for which you DO NOT want to create a mailbox.
