Adjusting the Flange
Focal Length
It is necessary to adjust the flange focal length (the
distance from the lens flange to the plane of the image
along the optical axis) if the focus does not match properly
from telephoto to wide angle during zoom operations.
With the lens supplied with the HDC-X300K/X310K, you
can select "automatic adjustment" to adjust the flange
focal length while operating the zoom and focus
automatically or "manual adjustment" to adjust it by
operating the zoom and focus manually.
In either case, use the supplied flange focal length
adjustment chart as the subject.

Note
If a subject of insufficient contrast is used, or if the camera
or subject moves during the adjustment, adjustment may
fail.
Selecting the adjustment mode
Select the adjustment mode Auto or Manual on the FB
ADJUST page of the MAINTENANCE menu.
