Notes
• SCSI Terminator
The BW-F101 only supports shielded connectors. The
drive has no internal SCSI bus terminator, therefore when
the drive is connected at the end of a SCSI configuration,
it is necessary to connect an active terminator that
complies to the SPI3: ANSI NCITS.336:2000
specification to either end of the cable.
• SCSI Cable
You can use a 68-signal conductor flat cable, or a 34-
signal twisted cable as the LVD/SE cable.
To achieve a high transfer rate, the total length of SCSI
cables should not exceed 6 m in an SE (single-ended)
configuration. In an LVD configuration, the total length
should be less than 12 m (39.4 ft.).

■ System configuration
The BW-F101 is connected to a host computer through its
SCSI interface. A maximum of fifteen peripheral devices
can be connected as a daisy chain on the SCSI bus.

■ SCSI and DC power connectors
The SCSI and DC power connectors are located at the rear
of the drive.
The drive uses a Fujitsu (FCN 235J068G/0-53) 68-pin
SCSI connector and a Kyocera Elco (00-9091-04-1305)
4-pin DC power male header.

The BW-F101 drive signal to GND level depending on the function pin
settings. Otherwise, the signal is not driven to GND level.
WARNING
Default settings enable write caching. The integrity of the
contents of the buffer memory is not guaranteed through
power cycling.

The conductor number refers to the conductor position when using planar
cable media.
■ Optional DIP switch settings
The BW-F101 features optional switches S202 and S205.
These optional DIP switches allow the user to set the drive
configuration.
