5. Write text
You can enter letters, numbers, and special characters in
several different ways. The virtual keyboard and keypad
allow you to enter characters by selecting them. If you
have selected English as the writing language,
handwriting recognition allows you to write characters
directly onto the screen, using the stylus as a pen.
Tap any text input field to enter letters, numbers, and
special characters.
If you have selected English as the writing language, your
device can complete words based on the built-in
dictionary. The device also learns new words from your
input.
Virtual keyboard
To activate the virtual keyboard in portrait mode, select
and
Mini QWERTY
keyboard.
To activate the virtual keyboard in landscape mode, select
and
Full screen
QWERTY.
When using the virtual keyboard in portrait mode, select
the keys of the keyboard with the stylus. When using the
virtual keyboard in landscape and full-screen mode, you
can select the keys with your fingers.

1 — Close - Close the virtual keyboard.
2 — Input menu - Open the touch input options menu,
which includes commands such as

4 — Shift and caps lock - When English is selected as the
writing language, the shift and caps lock keys allow you
to enter an uppercase character when writing in
lowercase using the virtual keyboard. When you select
this key in handwriting recognition mode, the last
lowercase character switches to uppercase, and vice
versa. To activate caps lock, select the key twice. The key
will have a line under it.
When Korean is selected as the writing language, the shift
key allows you to switch between fortis consonants and
additional vowels. The caps lock key does not function in
Korean.
5 — Numbers and symbols - Switch between numbers,
most commonly used special characters, and alphabet
characters in the virtual keyboard.
6 — More symbols - Open a dialog, in which you can select
more shapes and symbols.
