USB connection/charging

The PC supplies power and charges the battery via a USB connection.
• The USB cannot charge when the memory card has not been inserted.
• The battery cannot be charged via a USB connection while the battery is being
charged by the AC adapter.
• The battery cannot be charged while the PC has not been started.
Operating Method

Connect with the PC using the USB cable (included).
• If a commercially available USB cable is used, ensure that the cable is less than 2m
long.
• Do not use a USB hub. Always connect directly to the PC's USB port.

Confirm that the status lamp (orange light on the left) is lit.
• Charging starts when the USB cable is connected while the power is on. However, if
"Configuring the confirmation screen during USB connection" on page 68 is changed to
[Display], the [USB charge options] screen displays. Charging starts when the [Charge]
key is pressed.
• When the USB cable is connected while the power is off, the power turns on and the
[USB charge options] screen is displayed.
The "Established USB connection." screen is displayed.
• The unit cannot be operated; however, the unit can be accessed by the SV-Manager
software on the PC while the unit is being charged via the USB connection.
