    DC power and reduces the voltage supplied to this computer.     Turning on the power This section describes how to turn on the power - the Power indicator will then indicate the status.     Starting up for the first time The Windows 7 Startup Screen will be the first screen displayed when you turn on the power.     Lay the disc, label side up, in the disc tray. Figure 3-8 Inserting a disc (R830) 1. Laser lens When the disc tray is fully opened, the edge of the computer will slightly cover the disc tray. Therefore, you will need to turn the disc at an angle when you place it in the disc tray.
  • Page 82 Do not press the eject button while the computer is accessing the media drive. Wait for the optical disc drive indicator to go out before you open the disc tray. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, wait for it to stop before you remove it.

    Writable discs This section describes the types of writable discs. Check the specifications of your drive to see the types of discs it can write. Use TOSHIBA Disc Creator and Corel Digital Studio to write compact discs. CD-R discs can be written only once. The recorded data cannot be erased or changed.
