When using the unit, the following messages may appear in the display. The meaning of the displayed messages are:

Display messages
MEANING
There is no disc in the unit. Insert a disc.
No digital signal being input to the
selected digital input jack.
An attempt is made to record digital
signal from a source while its digital copy
has been prohibited by SCMS.
The inserted disc is not an audio MD.
Recording is not possible because there
is no blank space remaining on the disc.
Additional characters cannot be input for
the current title because the maximum
number of characters for a single title (80)
have already been input.
The disc does not contain any recordings.
The disc does not contain any tracks but
has a disc title.
The unit is reading the TOC data.
The unit is writing the TOC data.
Problem involving TOC data.
The editing operation is in progress.
Edit operations are not possible because
of MD system limitations.
This is message for confirming if editing
can really be performed.
The record protection on the inserted MD
is set to "protect".
The inserted MD is a designed for
playback only (you cannot record on this
disc).

Insert a disc.
Make sure the connection for digital recordings
are correct.
Use analog recording.
Insert an audio MD.
Change the disc with enough blank for
recording.
Erase some characters.
Change the recorded disc.
Record some on the disc.

Erase all tracks. If not possible, use another
MD.

Perform editing following the restrictions.
