For longer battery life
Your Reader will enter sleep mode if no operation is performed for
60 minutes. While this mode enables you to immediately resume
reading from where you previously left off, some amount of battery

Note on browsing PDF documents using
the Reader
Your Reader provides the ability to display most text based PDF
documents in three font sizes: Small (S), Medium (M) and Large
(L). By default, documents are displayed in their original layout
when viewed in the Small (S) size.
By pressing
~
(Size), the text size within documents can be
increased to Medium (M) or Large (L), and the page layout is
adjusted
autom~tically
to fit the screen size.
Due to the complex nature of PDF documents, in certain situations
when viewing in Medium (M) or Large (L) sizes, only text will
appear as some tables and graphics may be reformatted and
altered during the reflow process.
In these cases, if retaining the original layout of your PDF document
is required, viewing in Small (S) size will retain the original
formatting. In addition, when viewing in Small (S) size, the text size
can be magnified to improve readability by switching the screen
orientation from vertical to horizontal. To switch the screen
orientation, press and hold
~
(Size) for approximately 5 seconds,
or configure "Orientation" settings from the "Settings" menu.

To maximize battery life, you can use the "Device Shutdown"
feature. To shutdown the device, from the "Home" menu select
"Settings" - "Advanced Settings" - "Device Shutdown," in this order.
Then press
rn
(Bookmark) to go into "Device Shutdown."
To turn Reader on again, slide the POWER switCh, and the start-up
screen will appear in approximately 1 minute. For additional details,
refer to the User's Guide.
Note on connection via USB
If you connect the Reader to your computer via USB in the following
cases, the Reader will not be recognized by your computer and will
not display
-=
(indicating connection via USB) for at least 40
minutes.
• When the Reader has been entered into shutdown state and you
connect it without turning it on .
• When the battery power of the Reader has been fully depleted.

I'aide du Reader
Votre Reader vous permet d'afficher la plupart des documents texte
PDF dans trois tailles de police: Petite (8), Moyenne (M) et Grande
(L). Par defaut, tous les documents apparaissent dans leur mise en
