Google Home Speaker

Using Your Google Home Speaker to Control Your TV
You can use your Google Home speaker to control some of the functionality of your TV. For example, once setup you can ask your
Google Home speaker to show videos on You Tube. Your TV will switch on and play the content you asked for. Both devices will
need to be on the same network and connected so that they can see each other. To do this you will need to change some settings
on your TV and in the Google Home App.
Allowing your TV to power on via your Google Home Speaker
•
First you will need to go into SETTINGS - NETWORK & INTERNET and select
WOW (wake on wireless network) to ON. This allows your Google Home
speaker to communicate with your TV, so it will switch on when you ask it.
Switching WOW on will increase your TVs power consumption in Standby.
•
You also need to make sure Chromecast built-in is active. Go to SETTING - APPS
- SEE ALL APPS - SHOW SYSTEM APPS then select CHROMECAST BUILT-IN and
make sure its Active.
Linking your TV to your Google Home Speaker
Now you need to make sure that your TV and Google Home Speaker can see each other by linking them together in the Google
Home app.
If you have changed the name of your TV, make sure the name on your TV and the Name of your TV in the Google Home
app match.
1. Open the Google Home app on your
phone.
2. Check that you can see your Google Home
speaker and your Android TV in the app.
