    SF-S55N Unplug the copier's power cord before carrying out the following procedure. Mounting of the staple sorter onto the copier. 1. Attach the sorter mounting plate. Attach the sorter mounting plate with the 2 sorter mounting plate screws (M4x16 with washer).

Remove the upper left cabinet panel from the copier. Remove the 7 screws securing the upper left cabinet panel to the copier, and take off the upper left cabinet panel.

  • Page 21 SF-S55N Staple sorter operation check 1. Check the sort mode. Make 20 copies in the sort mode and confirm that the copies are distributed to the sort bins from the sorter. 2. Check the non-sort mode. Make copies in the non-sort mode and confirm that they are sent to the non-sort bin.
  • Page 22 SF-S55N If the staples run out • If the staples in the staple cartridge run out, the indicator for replenishment of staples will light up. 1. Pull out the stapler. Open the stapler cover. Grip and sgueeze the stapler's handle firmly so as to release the lock, and pull the stapler out gently as far as it will go.
  • Page 23 SF-S55N 4. Fit a new case of staples inside the staple cartridge. Fit a new case of staples inside the staple cartridge, in the way shown in the figure. Make sure that the staple case is fitted securely in place inside the staple cartridge.
  • Page 24 SF-S55N If staples have become jammed • If staples have become jammed in the stapler, the STAPLING START/STOP indicator will blink. 1. Pull out the stapler. Turn off the copier's power switch, and remove the power plug from the socket.
