Chapter 3 Functional and Operational Characteristics
Description and Usage
Sleep Wait suppressing option (see modes 61, 85, 86, 97). When Mode 45 is ON and Mode 61 is ON,
WRITE I/Os for LDEVs are blocked by the threshold specified by SDM.
ON: Sidefile threshold does not activate Sleep Wait timer at the sleep wait threshold.
OFF: Sidefile threshold activates Sleep Wait timer at the sleep wait threshold.
Microcode level: -10-00-00/10 and higher.
Enables the DONOTBLOCK option of the XADDPAIR command. Must be OFF if the operating system
does not support the DONOTBLOCK option.
ON: DONOTBLOCK option activated.
OFF: DONOTBLOCK option ignored.
Microcode level: 01-12-18-00/00 and higher.
Variable sidefile threshold.
Mode 85 ON and mode 86 OFF: Thresholds for Sleep wait/SCP/Puncture = 30/40/50%
Mode 85 OFF and mode 86 OFF: Thresholds for Sleep wait/SCP/Puncture = 40/50/60%
Mode 85 OFF and mode 86 ON: Thresholds for Sleep wait/SCP/Puncture = 50/60/70%
Mode 85 ON and mode 86 ON: Thresholds for Sleep wait/SCP/Puncture = 60/70/80%
Microcode level: 01-12-18-00/00 and higher.
Variable Sleep Wait timer duration (see modes 45, 85, 86).
ON: Sleep Wait timer duration = 10 ms.
OFF: Sleep Wait timer duration = 100 ms.
Microcode level: 01-10-00-00/10 and higher.
Selects SCP or session cancel (see modes 45, 85, 86).
ON: Forced session cancel.
OFF: SCP.
Microcode level: 01-10-00-00/10 and higher.
HXRC, CC, TC390A – SIM notification when:
HXRC+CC sidefile reaches sleep wait threshold (see modes 45, 85, 86, 97).
TC390A sidefile reaches high-water mark (HWM = sidefile threshold - 20%) (see mode 93).
ON: Generate SIM.
OFF: No SIM generated.
Microcode level: 01-10-00-00/10 and higher.

HXRC+CC sidefile reaches sleep wait threshold (see modes 45, 85, 86, 97).
TC390A sidefile reaches high-water mark (HWM = sidefile threshold - 20%) (see mode 93).
ON: Generate SIM.
OFF: No SIM generated.
Microcode level: 01-10-00-00/10 and higher.
