Replacing the unit
Air filter unit
J
Filter prevents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector. Should the
filter become clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans' effectiveness and may result in
internal heat buildup and adversely affect the life of the projector.
If <FILTER> indicator lights orange, replace the filter immediately.
Replacement of the air filter unit
J
1) Turn off the projector, and unplug the AC
power cord from the AC outlet.
2) Clean up the dust on the projector and
around the air vents.
3) Press ▼ downwards on the filter cover to
release the latch and open the filter cover.
4) Pull out the air filter unit.
Pick the tab and frame of the air filter unit,
z
release the lock with pressing the tab
rightwards in the figure, and then pull.
5) Put the new one back into the position.
Hold the air filter unit that the tab is in left side in
z
the figure, put the right side in the figure first,
and press the tab side until make a click sound.
6) Close and press up to lock the filter cover.
Make sure that the air filter cover is closed
z
tightly.
7) Connect the AC power cord to the projector
and turn on the projector.
Resetting the Filter Counter

Be sure to reset the Filter counter after replacing the air filter unit.
1) Turn on the projector, press the <MENU> button to display the main menu.
2) Press ▲▼ to select [Setting] and then press ► or the <ENTER> button to access
the sub-menu item.
3) Press ▲▼ to select [Filter counter] and then press ► or the <ENTER> button to
access the next item.
4) Press ▲▼ to select [Filter counter reset] and press the <ENTER> button.
5) [Filter counter Reset?] appears. Select [Yes] to continue.
6) Another confirmation dialog box appears, select [Yes] to reset the [Filter counter].
