5.5 TROUBLE SHOOTING

5.6 Independent chuck
1. Note whether the clamping chuck is tight or not.
2. Reduce speed to cut irregular work pieces, in order to avoid the vibration
created by the machine.

Countermeasures
Disassemble and replace
Disassemble and remove seized
and repair or replace it
Disassemble and clean
Disassemble and remove the
rust
Modify the short taper
Reform it according to correct
forming method
Check the chuck is tightened
with regulated handle torque
Calculate the cutting force and
check whether the force
coincides with chuck
specifications
Reduce speed to level where
required clamping force can be
obtained
Lubricate from the ball cap and
make the clamp/unclamp of jaw
without clamping the work
Check to see that periphery and
edge face run out and tighten
the bolts with regulated toque
Check the forming plug is
parallel for edge face and isn't
deformed for clamping force
Reduce the jaw height
