3.2 Installation and Wiring of the FL654A Remote I/O Station

For installation and wiring of the FL654A remote I/O station, refer to Chapter 3 of the following

The FL654A remote I/O station performs

I/O Expansion Unit, and Input/Output Wiring
3.3 Connecting the Communication Cable
The FL654A supports 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX. Follow the procedure below to connect the
communication cable
The following describe connection of the cable on the assumption that a Category 5 or more UTP
cable has already been provided. Match the direction of the RJ-45 connector of the UTP cable and
the FL-net communication connector (FL-net) so that they are inserted.

About a ferrite core for the transmission cable:
It is recommended that a ferrite core be attached to the cable to reduce the influence of noise on the
UTP cable.
