Where to Add Grease
Lubricate the front wheels and the steering spindles until
the grease begins to ooze out of the bearings (Fig. 19).

Servicing the Air Cleaner
Clean the paper element after every 25 operating hours or
yearly, whichever occurs first.
Note: Service the air cleaner more frequently if the
operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
Removing the Foam and Paper Elements
1. Disengage the blade (PTO).
2. Shift the ground speed lever into Neutral.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
5. Remove the ignition key.
6. Open the hood.
7. Clean around the air cleaner to prevent dirt from getting
into the engine and causing damage.
8. Unscrew the knob and remove the air cleaner cover
(Fig. 20).

9. Unscrew the rubber nut and carefully remove the paper
element (Fig. 21).

Cleaning the Paper Element
1. Lightly tap the element on a flat surface to remove dust
and dirt (Fig. 22).
