The valid d ata of each barcode type is described below . If invalid d ata is
included in the barcode d ata string, the barcod e is not printed .

The follow ing conditions are required for barcod e printing:
Barcode printing is alw ays perform ed unid irectionally. H ow ever,
w hen it is m ixed w ith raster bit im age d ata, neither barcode nor raster
bit im age d ata is printed.
A barcod e is not printed w hen part of the barcode extends beyond
the right m argin.
When barcode d ata and text d ata are m ixed in a data sequence,
barcod e and text are printed in the same place.
The start and stop (*) characters of Code 39 are ad ded to hum an
read able characters.
The initial data of Code 128 (Set A, B, or C) is identified as the first
data of Code 128, and must be hexadecimal (41, 42, and 43,
respectively).
When Cod e 128 Set C and Interleaved 2 of 5 are selected , barcod e
data requires an even nu m ber d ata string. H ow ever, if an od d
nu m ber string is sent, a 0 is autom atically ad d ed , m aking it an even
num ber d ata string.
The barcod e print start p osition (excep t for POSTN ET) is alw ays
40/ 360 inch above the baseline.
