    Step 1 Setting Up the Machine Attaching the Supports DO NOT connect the interface cable. Connecting the interface cable is done when installing the driver. Attach the ADF document support. Open the control panel cover by lifting it toward the back. Control Panel Cover Attach the ADF Support.

    Installing the Drum Unit Assembly Open the front cover by pressing the front cover release button. Front Cover Unpack the drum unit assembly. Remove the protective part. Protective Part Rock it from side to side several times to distribute the toner evenly inside the assembly.

    Step 1 Setting Up the Machine Load Paper in the Paper Tray Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine. While pressing the paper guide release lever, slide the adjusters to fit the paper size. Check that the guides are firmly in the slots on the tray.
