● Precautions of Optical CPU link module (OLINK-SH)
・When the power source of the base on which the optical link module is mounted, is
turned off, the link system usually goes down.
In order to avoid system down, supply external non-outage 5 V DC input terminal
table of bypass cassette. (As for details of external power, refer to item 3.3)
・ In connecting optical cable, the permissible radius of bending for optical cable is
fixed. Therefore, reserve sufficient space number the module. ( Approx. 45 mm (for
optical connector) + permissible radius of bending at the minimum,.)
● General precautions for handling optical cable
Optical cable unlike existing electric cable, may break fiber by mishandling. Pay
attention to the following points.
(1) Cable must not be bent extremely.
Extreme bending may cause great optical loss or breaking. Lay cable in the space
whose radius is more than ten times as large the as the outside diameter of the cable,
or fix it after laying.
(2) Cable must not be compressed
Compression may damage housing of cable or break fiber conductor. Especially,
pay attention to the case that cable is laid at the door or corner the unit.
(3) Cable must not be twisted.
Twist may cause optical loss or breaking of fiber. Lay cable as it is not twisted more
than once per meter.
(4) Cable must not be lengthened with optical connector pert held.
For preventing breaking of fiber, a cable must not be lengthened with optical
connector part held.
(5) Optical cable must not be given extreme tension.
The permissible tension differs according to the specification (type) of cable. After
confirming it, lengthen cable within the value of permissible tension.
(6) Optical cable must not be treaded on.
Optical cable requires to avoid placing anything on it or being treaded on because
disconnection or optical loss may occur.
3.3 Precautions for supplying external 5 V DC power
(1) Supply power source: Use the constant-voltage supplier which satisfies the
following conditions:
Rated Output Voltage: 5 V DC
Output Voltage Variable Range: ±10 %
Output Current: 0.5 A min.
Ripple Voltage: 50 mV max.
In order to ensure safety operation, it requires to have the protective function
against over voltage and over current.
(2) Use one power supply for external supply for one base. Each base has each different
